Why Use an International Van Line for a Local Move?

A lot of people, moving across town or around the corner look for a “local mover”. They assume that agents for international van lines, like northAmerican, aren’t interested in local moving business.  They are greatly mistaken.

We are an interstate agent for northAmerican Van Lines located inLake Zurich,IL.  As a northAmerican agent, we are local movers, as well as part of an international company.

The needs that come with moving have relatively little to do with distance. They have to do with packing, loading, and unloading your possessions properly, no matter the distance traveled.

Sure, you can rent vans, trailers, dollies, and other moving equipment.  You can’t beat the price of doing it yourself, but you won’t be able to rent our experience and skills with the equipment.  And the prices don’t include protection against damage or loss during moving.  And most likely, neither does your current household insurance.

1: equipment does not a mover make.  There’s a certain physical risk in moving items such as appliances, heavy cabinets, and pianos.  And if you’re not in shape, you stand a chance of pulling a muscle, kinking your back, or somehow hurting yourself.

If you’re only going to move a few boxes, perhaps it makes sense to save the money.  But if you’re going to move even one heavy item, it’s not worth the chance you’ll be taking.

2: Some protection against loss or damage to your possessions included in the cost of your move if we do it.  Also we offer you our Full Value Protection plan, which will protect your goods up to the fair market value of each article in your shipment.

Let George do it?  If George is the “guy who has a big truck” somebody told you about, we advise you to tread lightly.  George may be a great guy (I have nothing against George as a person) and maybe he can load and unload your possessions without risk to you or damage to your goods, but he probably can’t provide you with the coverage you’ll need for protection against loss or damage.  And he may not have the proper equipment necessary to handle your items appropriately.  We are not here to knock George, but we do want to put some important acts in perspective for you.

We at Koldon Moving and Storage have the skill and equipment handy to solve every moving problem.  Whether you are moving across town or across the country.

The Twelfth Day of Moving

On the twelfth day of moving, Santa said to me,

“Glad you chose Team Koldon!”

“Open the door, for Team Koldon.”

“Receive tomorrow’s time of arrival from team Koldon.”

“Finally finish all the packing.”

“Take a day off to bake cookies for me.”

“Do some more packing.”

“Start packing boxes.”

“Book your move with Koldon Moving and Storage.”

“Call Koldon to ask questions.”

“Have Koldon give an estimate.”

“Contact team Koldon.”

“Search for a mover, make sure they can safely move the tree.”
